Glossary of Printing Machine
A copper-chromed cylinder engraved specifically per color layer on an image being printed.
A rubber roll pressurizing the gravure cylinder. The impression cylinders width must be larger than the width of the printing base material.
Pressure to nip the impression cylinder against the gravure cylinder. Pressing cylinder weight + pressing force.
Rubber roll that scoops the ink from the inside of the ink pan and pushes the ink into the engraved indentations on the gravure cylinder.
A thin blade of metal. By bringing this blade into contact with the gravure cylinder, it is used to push the ink into the carved engraving and at the same time scrapes any excess ink away.
A roll that guides in registration and tension movement.
Mechanism that drives the printing unit, including monitoring systems, quality, speed, tension...etc.
Structure not using a gravure cylinder axis. (Chucking Cylinder System)
Color controller: automatic register device
A Flexo printing machine system in which a large drum is arranged at the center of the printing section and a printing unit is installed around the drum.
It is a roll engraved with a crater-like cell pattern on the entire surface of the roll. The ink transfer is precisely controlled according to the size and depth of the cell.
Also called a closed doctor. A device that fills the inside of the chamber's main body with ink and scrapes ink with a doctor blade.
Ultraviolet irradiation device.
An electron beam irradiation device.
A roll that has a blade for kiss-cut control. The blade can be replaced based on specifications.
A thin corrosion blade on the magnet roll and cuts film.
